What about Standing Desks?

Standing is one of the four OSHA recommended workstation options. However, the guidelines are clear that standing by itself is not adequate. Standing desks must have a seated option.

The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations for employees who have disabilities. Under some scenarios, employers who are asked to provide a standing desk may be required to do so by the ADA.

Treadmill desks may provide better improvements in health. However, they can pose liability issues for employers due to accidents or injuries.
