ETRO Size Chart and Fit Guide

ETRO mainly uses Italian numeric sizing for clothing. On current official ETRO product pages, women's dresses and trousers convert from IT 36-54 into US 0-18, men's jackets convert from IT 44-64 into US 34-54, and ETRO's shirt pages use a separate shirt-size scale with product-level measurement tables. ETRO also uses separate size systems for shoes and belts, so the safest approach is to match the product type first and the conversion second.

How ETRO sizing works

Current ETRO US product pages show sizing at the product level rather than through one obvious master chart. A women's dress page and a women's trouser page use the same women's conversion grid, while a men's jacket page and a men's polo page map Italian sizes into letter and US equivalents for other categories.

That means ETRO is consistent about using Italian sizing, but not every category expresses fit in the same way.

Women's dresses and trousers

ETRO's current women's dress and trouser guides use the same conversion table on the official product pages linked above.

On the live dress page, selectable sizes currently run 36 through 50, while the size guide itself extends the conversion through 54. So if you only look at one product's size buttons, you may think the range is smaller than ETRO's broader guide.

Men's jackets and tailoring

For jackets, ETRO's current official guide converts Italian tailoring sizes directly into international and US sizes.

Men's shirts use a different chart

ETRO's current shirt pages are more detailed than the jacket pages. On the Roma cotton shirt page, ETRO lists size-by-size half-garment measurements rather than just a simple US conversion.

The practical takeaway is simple: for ETRO shirts, do not stop at the collar size alone. Compare the shirt measurements against a shirt you already own and like.

Shoes and belts need their own conversions

ETRO does not treat shoes or belts like apparel. On its official shoe pages, ETRO converts Italian shoe sizes into US and UK sizes, and on its belt pages ETRO states that the belt size corresponds to the belt measurement in centimeters.

How to measure before you buy

Use the model reference and fit label on the product page

ETRO often gives a useful second check on the live product page. The Roma shirt page says the model is 187 cm tall and wears size 39, while the wool-blend jacket page says the model is 186 cm tall and wears size 48. Those references do not replace your measurements, but they help you see whether ETRO is styling the item close, regular, or relaxed.

Bottom line

Start with ETRO's Italian size, then use the official product-page chart for the exact category you are buying. Women's apparel generally maps cleanly from IT 36-54 to US 0-18, men's tailoring maps from IT 44-64 to US 34-54, and shirts, shoes, and belts each need their own chart. If you use the category-specific table instead of a generic luxury-brand conversion, your odds of getting the right ETRO fit are much better.
