Pet Portraits have taken Tiktok and Instagram by storm. With the increase in the number of pet parents, it has become a go-to gift for everybody.
Of course, I wouldn’t deny that a painting of their pets can be a thoughtful gift for any occasion – be it birthdays, anniversaries, or even Christmas.
Now, I don’t really have anybody to gift it to me, so I decided to buy one myself and see what the hype was all about.

I have two cats, and only if the devil could see how they looked! If you’d asked me a couple of months ago to get a portrait of them, I would say, “Of these painful pieces of cats? Lol!”
But after we lost Zoe, I was a mess. I could not stop looking at her photos.
Just like any two cats, Zoe and Millie never had a picture together.
She was so used to running away and hiding as soon as she saw the camera that it was almost difficult to get a snap.
And even when I did manage to get a clear picture – this was the best that I could pull off.

I tried my best to heal from the grief, but nothing worked out.

How Does PortraitFlip Work?
The process is absolutely easy!
- Select the category that you want to choose. With category, it means what is the type of your portrait. For example, it can be a pet portrait, a human portrait, or even a landscape portrait.
- Select the medium. You get to choose from 7 different mediums, namely – Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Pencil Sketch, Charcoal Sketch Colored Pencil and Pastel. If you are not sure, you can go ahead with their 24x7 chat service and ask for a suggestion. You can alternatively place the order in the medium you feel is good, and they will definitely reach out to you if their artist thinks it needs an upgrade.
- Select the number of characters and size and upload your photos. Once you have decided what you want to get and which medium you want them to paint, you just have to select the size of the canvas and the number of people in the painting and upload the photo.
- Pay a 30% deposit and place your order. Your support manager will be assigned and get in touch with you on your registered email within 24 hours with the estimated time of the process and shipping.
- Within a few days, you will receive an email with digital proof for your review. This isn’t your portrait; it is a digital rendering of what your image would look like in the medium you choose. In this step, you can either approve the digital rendering or suggest changes, if any. After your approval, their artists will begin the magic.
- You will follow the same process one you receive an email with the photo of your painting. You can still ask for modifications. Mind you, all these modifications are free of cost. But you cannot have the size of the canvas increased or have another character added.
- Once approved, you have to pay the rest 70% of your payment and ask them to ship your painting.

I am so happy that I actually decided to get this pet portrait done of both of them.
I know Zoe is not around me, but this portrait always reminds me of a happy memory and makes me smile.
